Today was simply a meandering scenic drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania, mainly on US219. On the way we came across the Johnstown Flood National Memorial. We called in and learned all about the flood of 1889 caused by a dam bursting and emptying a lake down the valley of the Connemaugh River to Johnstown - killing more than 2,200 people. The picture is of what used to be the Lake.
Tomorrow we arrive back in Reston.
