Eggs, Bacon and scenery Sat 9th June 2007

It was raining a bit when we hit the road this morning. So that provided a good excuse to start the day with Eggs, Bacon, Home fries and Toast at the Littleton Diner. Surprisingly the first of the trip so far.

When we came out it was starting to clear up so we took the leisurely scenic route down the Connecticut River valley. Finishing up the day in Brattleboro, VT.
Apparently Brattleboro has a reputation as a bit of a hippy place. Lots of 'arty crafty' shops, tarot, feng shui and all that sort of thing ;-)
A bit of history about the place - apparently the town was named in 1725 after Colonel William Brattle Jr. of the Kings Militia. Col. Brattle never even had the grace to set foot in the place. A true monarchist!!
Incidentally, for those at home in the UK, it was 91deg F in Rutland yesterday. A bit too warm. It is much pleasanter today around the mid 70's.
