Started the day with a big cooked breakfast at the motel, then got on the road, the I40, East to Albuquerque. Went straight to the Sandia Peak Tramway (www.sandiapeak.com) and took the tram to the top at 10,378 feet. Although the views over Albuquerque were a bit hazy, you could still see peaks 65 miles away. Went on a short nature walk at the top with a Ranger who gave us details of the trees, shrubs and wildflowers along with other interesting info. After this trip, we drove to Old Town Albuquerque and had a wander round - lots of tourist shops where we managed to avoid buying anything, but we settled for ice creams and eventually left and made out way North to the outskirts, staying at the Days Inn somewhere off the I25. Went for dinner at an Applebee's restaurant within walking distance and then settled in for the night.
